Worlds Collide Event!

Posted 1 week ago :: Last edited 4 hours ago by Key

Worlds collide

In place of Summer Beast Trials, a special crossover event is taking place!
The world of Lunerest has collided with ours. There are many events taking place both here and over at Lunerest,
so please check them out!

It was a quiet night as Noë walked with Villiso and his gaggle of boarlets. They squealed and scrambled around their legs playfully as they walked. Villiso was dragging a giant leaf full of moonflowers to Aiti’s Pool for the ritual. The aitielkh around had all gathered to help Villiso’s boarlets gather these special flowers for tonight; Noë was looking forward to seeing what the ritual would bring. The group soon reached the pool and saw none other than Usnea waiting for them.

“Welcome.” Usnea’s quiet and warm voice greeted them as Usnea came out from the undergrowth. “I heard you’re looking to use the pool tonight, Villiso.”

“Hello, Usnea.” Noë greeted the shaggy aitielkh warmly with a touch of their nose to Usnea’s. They watched as Villiso began pouring the flowers into the pool.

“Yes, I had a strange vision.” Villiso mused as his boarlets watched from behind him, “Something of corruption, something of…moons.” he trailed off as the water had already begun shining. Noë’s eyes widened and they backed up to stand beside Usnea.

Villiso laid down by the pool and closed his eyes, focusing hard on remembering his vision. The water began to swell, getting brighter and brighter, the water taking on the soft pink colours of the petals. Noë and Usnea watched, their mouths agape as the water swirled into a towering whirlpool and began reflecting the stars of the sky.

“Wh-whoa…” Noë let out without even thinking.

“Look!” Usnea exclaimed, peering out from their overgrown mane at the sky. “The…moons?” they finished confusedly. Noë looked up to see that two additional moons had slowly begun to appear in the sky.

“Three moons? We have three moons?” Noë said in disbelief.

“Not that I knew of.” Usnea replied, way too nonchalantly. Noë shot them a dirty look before continuing to watch the starry whirlpool. Villiso had now opened his eyes, beams of light coming out of them.

“It’s almost done.” Villiso said with laboured breath as the whirlpool got bigger and bigger, faster and faster; until it stopped completely and crashed down, splashing everyone around the pool. Noë flinched at the splash and shook their pelt annoyedly. When they looked to the pool again, the moonflowers were gone and the water was normal again. The only thing that seemed to change was the sky, the three moons looming in the night sky mysteriously.

“Was…that it? We have three moons now?” Noë said in disbelief.

“I don’t think so, Noë.” Usnea said, shifting on their feet uncomfortably, “I feel something.”

“Me too.” Villiso replied, getting to his feet and looking up to the sky. Noë looked up to the three moons with him and after a few seconds a hole opened up in the sky between the moons.

“Oh!” Noë exclaimed, “A… hole? A black hole?” Noë said fearfully.

“I don’t think so, it feels…” Usnea began, but was quickly interrupted as black mist started pouring out. Villiso quickly started wrangling his boarlets, all of his hair standing on end.

“We need to get away!” he shouted, the urgency in his voice scared Noë as they continued to watch the black mist. “That mist, I recognize it!” Villiso continued, “It must be corru-” Villiso was cut off by a grating screech that shook everyone to their very core. Noë crouched down, pinning their ears to the back of their head in pain. A huge shadowy figure began to descend from the sky. It looked like some sort of huge, shadowy sea creature with giant fangs and a pointed tail.

“What is that thing?” Noë yelled over the noise.

“It doesn’t matter, let’s go!” Villiso started pushing Usnea away as Noë continued to stare. Noë’s hooves felt glued to the ground. They were frozen in terror. “RUN!” Villiso’s booming voice snapped Noë out of it and they turned to run.

Noë raced through the forest, their heart pounding in their ears as they heard frenzied hoofbeats all around. The entire forest’s inhabitants were running from that thing. They heard the screech again and stumbled on a rock, falling painfully to their knees.

“Help!” Noë screamed as the beast in the sky started hurtling down towards them. They were scrambling to get to their feet when they saw a giant black beam of mist heading towards them. Noë sprang to their feet and tried to dodge out of the way but the mist had hit them on one of their eyes. They bugled in pain as the searing mist scorched through their fur and hide. Breathing heavily, they scrambled behind a tree and began running again, not having time to worry about their wound. As they were running they heard a familiar, metallicy sing-songy voice.

“ᏁᎧᏋ, Ꭵ ᎦᎧᏬᏁᎴ ᎩᎧᏬ, ᏇᏂᎩ ᎥᏕ ᏖᏂᏋᏒᏋ Ꮧ ፈᎧᏒᏒᏬᎮᏖᎥᎧᏁ ᏰᏋᏗᏕᏖ ᎥᏁ ᏕᎥᏝᏦᏦᏗᏕᏕᏗ, ᎧᏂ ᎷᎩ ᎷᎧᎧᏁᏕ, ᎩᎧᏬᏒ ᎦᏗፈᏋ?” Noë screeched to a halt, looking around wildly. They recognized that voice and that jumbled mix of bepotelkh-tongue and lunerestian speech.

“Matka! Matka, you’re here!” the fluffy, flying creature came into view. Matka was the Lunerestian ambassador moxyn that Noë had come to know so well. “What are you doing here?” Noë said between gasps.

“Ꭵ ፈᏗᎷᏋ ᏰᏋፈᏗᏬᏕᏋ Ꭵ ᏂᏋᏗᏒᎴ-” Noë interrupted them,

“Slow down, Matka, I can’t understand you when you talk so fast!” Noë chided. Matka took a deep breath and landed in front of Noë.
“I came as soon as I could! I felt a familiar magic tonight… why are Lunerest’s moons showing up here?” Matka questioned, glancing to the sky where the portal had opened up. “Why are there corruption beasts? Your face…Noë…” Matka’s brows were furrowed.

“I don’t know! Well, I know some of it. Villiso had a vision that we needed to do a ritual, we gathered moonflowers and went to the Aiti pool. It summoned those moons at first but then… something else came out.” Matka’s fur began bristling and their expression was of pure fear.

“What!!! That is so incredibly reckless!!!” Matka hissed. “It seems there was corruption here that is now MUCH STRONGER because of that portal to Lunerest and I-” Matka was interrupted as a blast of corruption shot past the two of them. “We need to get somewhere safer!!! Follow me!” Matka took flight and began leading Noë away.

“Wait, I’ll just use my magic to-” Noë began to turn to face the beast, but was quickly grabbed by Matka’s magic by the antlers.

“NO!!!” Matka yanked Noë’s face towards them. “They EAT magic, you’ll only make them stronger! We have to GO!” Matka let go of Noë and began flying, signaling Noë to follow. Noë almost protested but pushed it down and began to gallop after Matka. The sounds of chaos and ruin filled the forest. Screams, hoofbeats, screeches, Noë was growing more and more distressed.

Soon the two came to a large, thick grove of trees and pushed their way in. Usnea was inside waiting for them.

“Noë, your face!” Usnea gasped upon seeing the two enter. They tried to run up to touch Noë’s wound but Matka pushed their way between them.

“Usnea, no! You’ll get corrupted too.” Matka held their paws up.

“Why do you guys keep talking about my face like that?” Noë said, distraught, “Is it that bad?”

“It is strange.” Usnea cocked their head as they observed the black patch over Noë’s eye. It was gently oozing black moon and star shapes off of it.

“I’m not really sure how corruption affects aitielkh.” Matka said, hovering near Noë’s effected eye and observing. “Usually for xyns it causes us to be leeched of our magic and enter a semi-feral state where we cannot control ourselves.”

“WHAT?” Noë cried, “I’m going to lose control of myself? No, no, no!” Noë reared up in distress.

“I’m not sure!” Matka cried, “All we can do is wait and try to keep you safe.” Matka looked worriedly at the two, “We should reach out to Lunerest’s queens and get help. I’m sure we can heal you.” Matka gently pet Noë’s mane to try to comfort them, “Usnea, what should we say?”

“Well,” Usnea laid down, Noë and Matka following suit. “I guess we should begin with, ‘we opened a portal’”. The three laid together to hurriedly craft a letter. Matka finished it up and held it in their magic.

“I have to go report to the queens with all of this information, you two have to start warning everyone and trying to get anyone magical to a hidden place. These beasts will eat all of your magic and only grow stronger.” The two aitielkh nodded, their lips pressed tightly together. “We’ll fix this.” Matka said and quickly hugged the two aitielkh before grabbing onto their warpstone and disappearing. Noë looked to Usnea and the two elkh got up and set out to find the others.

The world of lunerest

This event is a crossover with Lunerest. Lunerest is a world of almost perpetual night, where only brave xyns can dimension-hop (and thus some may indeed have visited Silkkassa!). But this world is dangerous as it contains corruption beasts which need to feed on magic to survive. You can read more about Lunerest species here!

Event prompt

The event prompt can be entered by any elkh, not just aitielkh, but please read carefully so you understand the event rules and rewards, as this event is replacing beast trials. You may even include other creatures like lunerestians, shroomkin, habapi, and humans this time around!

See WORLD >PROMPTS >Limited Prompts

Event traits & PRizes

Restricted event traits include:

Corruption markings: (Aiti only) dark markings that ooze dark stars and moons.
Trailing stars: (Aiti or Bep/Sono) A glowing star enchantment which trails behind the elkh.
Star rune: (Aiti or Bep/Sono) A glowing star enchantment which hovers quietly over the head of the elkh.
Cupie wings: (Aiti only) Feathered or bat wings which are tiny and float above the elkh.
Halo: (Aiti only) A shining, sparkling halo appears above the elkh's head or around the tail or legs.

Starmoles from Lunerest have appeared in Silkkassa and Miatias!
Dusky, Powder, and Pricklypear moles are available in the event shop for Lunar Gildes.

Another enchanted accessory appears! This magical ribbon from Lunerest has magical qualities. If an aitielkh wears it, they can control the ribbons and use them to interact with the world! The colors can change to match with the owner. On a non-magical elkh, it's just very pretty.

And a special elkh accessory has been made by lunerestians to celebrate their arrival in the bepoltekh world! The Lunar Halter features the iconic night sky motif of Lunerest.

Event Advent Calendar

Advent calendar returns this month with gilde or lunar gilde rewards daily. Check in every day this month to get a Matka plush bonus prize at the end!

Event MYO Moodboard Raffle

These moodboard MYOs will be raffled off on July 1st! You can pick up a ticket using gildes in the Event Shop! Each MYO must use the attached traits and should follow the palette fairly closely. After you buy your raffle ticket, be sure to open it in your inventory or you won't be entered into the raffle!
Each winner can only win once! So if the first raffle is rolled and person A wins, person A will not be rolled for any of the other raffles. If person B then wins the second raffle, they will not be rolled in the remaining raffles, etc. So please choose carefully! <3
You can check your entries anytime by going to ACTIVITY >Raffles

See ACTIVITY >Raffles

Summer seasonal Shop Rotation

The seasonal shop stock has rotated with some brand new accessories and giftwraps!

The pride accessories, like other official accessories, can have altered color. These can be substituted with any LGBTQIA pride flag in your artwork.

Three new summer giftwraps are available! Sunny skies, constellations, and rainbow celebration.

See WORLD >Gilde Shops >Elkh Shop

Changes to rolled fawn MYO and gilde bought myo RESALE RULES

Going forward, we're disallowing the resale of MYO rolled fawns or any MYO that was bought with in game currency (gIldes). As the group grows and changes, we sometimes feel the need to tweak rules, and this is one of those things we've been considering for awhile now. If you get official custom designs of your rolled fawns (not rebases) by Herboreal or Nopal, they may be resold. If you buy a MYO slot with irl money, the character made with the slot may be resold.

Please note this change does not apply retroactively; any rolled fawn MYOs you own and have already had designed can continue to be resold freely. However, any designs that pass through the system starting June 1st 2023 will be marked as gift/trade only, regardless of how long the slot has existed.

  • The Featured Character is updated on the front page!
  • Keep your eyes open for additional events next month!
  • A Beast Trial guide has been added to the guides page.
  • Redesign potion and trait swap potion information has been updated to specify it's only to be used on previously approved designs (cannot be used on rolled fawns until they've been grown).
  • Timbre is taking another break! Commissions are closed; please do not ask for comms or trades. You can ask to be added to the pinglist anytime!

Villoso's Ritual Realized

Thanks to the help of many elkh in protecting the boarlets as they sought out moonflowers, Villoso was able to move forward with his ritual, performed at the aiti pool. Something strange is happening! We'll have to wait for word from Villoso or other Followers of Aiti to find out what's going on.
The Beast Trial Shop is open for the month of May! (WORLD > GILDE SHOPS >Beast Trial Shop)

Survey Results, Changes, & Future Plans

Posted 1 month ago :: Last edited 1 month ago by Herboreal

Survey Results

First, thank you for answering the survey! Let's look at the results, and we'll share our response in turn.

What Types of Events would you like to see more of?

The results of this poll were primarily in favor of (in order of importance):

  • General Art/Writing Prompts
  • Specific Scenario prompts (such as beast trials & explorations)
  • Character Development Prompts (hollygiving, #bep-games)

We do plan to do some more general prompts! And of course beast trials and explorations will continue. We're glad they're being enjoyed <3 We will also try to continue character development related prompts and games. Another exploration prompt is set to be released May 1st!

What Topics do you enjoy for events?

The results of this poll were primarily in favor of (in order of importance):

  • Lore/plot development for the world
  • In-world events and holidays
  • Developing individual character stories
  • Low plot "fun" events

We have some big worldbuilding events coming soon- one of which is already unfolding with the latest beast trial :3c We will try to think of some new holiday events as well. Longstanding prompts like storylines are meant for character development, but we will also consider ways in which events may contribute to this goal as well.

What prizes are you most excited to see in events?

The results of this poll were primarily in favor of (in order of importance):

  • New and/or Retired Traits
  • New and/or Retired Companions
  • New accessories
  • Character Upgrades
  • Premade Characters

We'll definitely keep this in mind going forward!

For specific retired items, there was mention of getting CG store items at events. This is already a feature, and the CG store is meant to be a way to get the items year-round. Many of these items are available in various gacha boxes during autumnfound, or in the birthday box, or via beast trials. Mimic may be the only one not available anywhere else right now but we'll keep that in mind. We're also working on introducing more ways to earn CG other than paying USD, but the currency was intended to be a "premium" currency so that will remain it's primary function for the sake of funding site development.

The website

Was registration confusing to you at first?

The results were a resounding "no".

survey.pngWere any parts of submitting to prompts/gallery confusing to you at first?

The results were a resounding "yes, kind of".

We encourage use of the guides, especially the "getting started" guide, but those weren't necessarily readily available when the site first went up, so this makes sense! It would be nice if the Lorekeeper framework had a built-in way to streamline the prompt submission process, but as-is, it has to remain this way. It's possible that future versions of LK will make this process easier. We're always happy to help via the questions chat on discord, too. However, if you have suggestions for how to improve the way we communicate this information, please let us know!

survey.pngHow do you feel about the process of designing/submitting Characters?

The results were mostly that it's easy/well liked.

I'll address some specific issues raised:

  • One entry mentioned that it's not an enjoyable process. Without knowing any details, we're unsure if this means the mechanics of the submission or the process of the design being approved. Either way, if you need assistance, we encourage you to reach out! We do have a MYO submission guide in the Guides tab that may help as well, and if the issue is that designs get kicked back for edits, please review the Design Guide.
  • One entry mentioned that the Design Guide should mention that Subspecies are available for MYOs. We've edited the guide to make clear mention that these are available for MYO usage, and also links to the encylopedia for more information on the subspecies. There are also bases available for all subspecies.
  • One entry mentioned that bep rarity doesn't appear to change when trait change items are submitted with a MYO/design update. This is untintentional and a mistake on our part. Due the the Lorekeeper framework, this sometimes can't be changed until after the character is approved, so it's a matter of us noticing and remembering to do it. If you notice this has been missed (or if ANY of your characters rarity does not match the highest rarity trait they have), please submit a claim so it can be fixed. We've gone through and fixed a lot of the recent MYOs.

survey.pngIs there information you find difficult to access on-site?

The results were largely "no", but when they weren't, lore and location info seemed to be the tricky ones.

A lot of this is once again the general structure of Lorekeeper, but we hope that as you use the site, it becomes easier to navigate. We tried to place the Guides tab in a more obvious location so it's easier to get to; we will add the locations to the dropdown menu under "WORLD" soon to make those more accessible as well.
A LORE page has been added under "WORLD", but we need to finish filling it out.

survey.pngIs there information you believe to be missing from the site?

All answers were "no" except for one: "The magic trials are still on the weebly site"

This was a copypaste error when the guides were set up. The magic trials have been in the prompts for a long time and the copypaste error has been fixed.

survey.pngAre there features you'd like to see on our site?

Suggestions and our responses:

  • A way to link characters (like toyhouse)
    • We really want this too! This just isn't possible with the current LK framework. Perhaps version 2.0 will have a feature like this, or someone will create an extension for it in the future. We're keeping an eye out!
  • Being able to see all the traits in one picture
    • The visual trait index serves this purpose. Re-editing and uploading a single image with traits in it over and over was very tedious, so we hope the visual trait index is helpful- we've added it to the navigation under "RESOURCES" to make it easily accessible.
  • Access to information about events including past events
    • News posts are left up with information about past events. Unfortunately, if we leave old event prompts up, it creates confusion about what prompts are available to do at any given time. If you have further suggestions about how we can make this information accessible, please let us know! We could perhaps make a guide to events, listing calendar of events that occur throughout the year.

Designs and Sales

We'll skip a lot of these as it's info mostly pertinent to designers, but some things warrented a response, so we'll list those here!

survey.pngHow do you feel about markings as traits? Etc.

Results and responses:

  • I like them (x9)
  • Specific marking options for aitielkh might be helpful
    • We'd suggest using regular elkh markings if that's the case. While it's not required, you can certainly choose to use them (they still should not be listed as traits on the ML, however)!
  • I prefer aiti for the markings freedom but MYOs are hard to get
    • We're making aiti MYO tickets easier to access and reducing the cost of various MYO and upgrade tickets in general.
  • Restrictive traits make it hard for newcomers to get into the game/for me to be creative
    • After discussion of potentially removing markings as traits, we have opted to keep them for the time being, but we're going to make an effort to provide more options and flexibility where possible. It's difficult because of the breeding system. If things become too flexible, traits don't mean anything anymore. We  have discussed breedings only applying to physical traits and colors, but largely the markings system is preferred by current players, so we're going to do our best to meet this request halfway as we know it can be frustrating!
  • Sonos and beps should share markings
    • We feel this keeps them separate and unique; however, you can easily combine traits by making your character a hybrid.

survey.pngsome color palettes you'd like to see more often in premade designs?

  • Darker palettes
  • Black and white
  • More unusual colors on beps/sonos
    • This is just canonically not possible which is why we don't do it ;w; we could utilize more dye, however.
  • Less black and gray
  • Purple, gold, white, pale
  • Yellow, brown
  • White, cream
  • Blues, greens
  • Brown, pink, gray, cream, mulberry, gold

ImmINENT changes

We're changing up some traits to make more sense and offer more versatility!

  • Aiti MYO tickets were added to the General Shop
  • Prices reduced on elkh MYO tickets, aiti transformations, habapi MYO tickets, and shroomkin MYO tickets.
USD shop MYO ticket prices reduced

Traits being retired:

  • Updo
  • Single Braids
  • Multiple Braids
  • Braided Tail

Players that have beps with these traits will automatically be provided with trait potions for each instance of this trait on beps they own. The potions may be kept and used, or may be resold from the players inventory for gildes. Braids and other hairstyles will be free-for-all now and can be changed at will. Sonoelkh with the UPDO hair style will have the trait changed to Windswept and will be awarded a rare trait potion to compensate.

These changes were discussed with members in the sponsor chat and ultimately decided upon by Nopal and Timbre; however, if you are strongly opposed, please let us know. For that reason, we're waiting a day to implement this change.

Traits becoming restricted:

  • Carved
  • Paint

These traits just did not make sense as heritable traits from  breedings, so their rarity is being upgraded to Restricted. You can now easily add these traits to your bep by buying a Carving Kit or a Paint Kit from the Elkh shop and applying them to your MYO or design update, just like Hair Dye!
The traits have had their rarity updated and characters with these traits have had their character rarity upgraded.

The removal of braids/updo as traits will happen on Friday April 7, at which time compensatory trait potions will also be sent out! These can be resold to the shop for gildes if desired.

New Traits:

Shaped Marking

  • Shaped Marking (rare)

This trait will allow for one marking on a bep or sono to be any shape of your choice (as long as it fits within the canon of this early 1900s-era fantasy world). You can have multiple shaped markings by purchasing multiple rare trait potions and applying them to the design. This does apply to the typically restricted stars and hearts. To be clear though, it would not look the same as there would only be ONE star per rare trait potion. Bep/sono color restrictions apply.

New Shop:

Meet Rami!

Rami (he/him) helps run a small shop dedicated to beautifying elkh! You can find dye, carving kits, and paint kits here.

Thank you!

Thank you again for participating in the survey! We're always going to work on making the game more enjoyable for you. Please do continue to offer suggestions, feedback, and comments whenever you like, using the questions-and-suggestions channel on our Discord.

March News!

Posted 3 months ago :: Last edited 2 months ago by Nopalrabbit

A Little Break...

We've had several events back-to-back, so for the sake of the staff and users alike, we're taking a month off of any kind of events! There are still plenty of things to do if you wish though, so let's talk about some updates that might be of interest!
Please do note Herboreal is on hiatus. Please contact Nopal or other moderators for group assistance at this time.

STorylines Refresh

Storylines have been adjusted a bit for this month!

Keeping things OrDERLY

When we first launched the new site a year ago, Storylines prompts were all locked behind one another so that they were done in order as intended. However, leaving them locked kept the following prompts information hidden, so users couldn't plan out a story in advance. Our dev Wisp has helped us so the prompts can continue to be locked, but their information will still be visible before you unlock them by doing the prerequisite prompt!

Award Cabinet

Those of you who are longtime players may remember that we had charm racks, flower crowns, and a ceramic art piece to collect as a character completed storylines. Collecting these pieces and putting them on the charm rack was a bit of a pain for users. Now, your character will be given an award each time a Storyline prompt is completed, and that award will be veiwable from their profile! Once the character has completed their chosen Storyline, they will recieve the finished product as an item they keep in their inventory.

Visit the elkh's profile and select "AWARDS" at left (highlghted in black here)

Storyline awards as they appear in your elkh's award cabinet!

Once the storyline is completed, the finished collection of items will be placed in your elkh's inventory.
(your elkh's inventory is also viewable from their profile page)

Claiming past awards

If your elkh has already earned some or all of the storyline rewards, please submit a claim and attach the character(s). We will verify by looking at their rank points. If you have submitted the prompts on the website and are missing rank points, please send in a claim with your old prompts listed in the comments. If you have not submitted old storyline prompts yet from back in the DA group days, please submit them through the prompts themselves so you can unlock the next storyline. NOTE please tell us in the comments if you've already received the gildes for these old prompts.

See WORLD >PROMPTS >Village Stories/Wild Pact/Oasis Dreams/Desert Trail

Storylines Completion Rewards soon

Each storyline will have its own completion reward SOON! We have some ideas of what we'd like to award but we'd also like to hear from our players! Learn more at the end of the news post.

The exploration continues!

Art by Thy.

We thought the Matsana Exploration prompt was so much fun that we would keep it open indefinitely! You can visit the Matsana Jungle with your elkh anytime henceforth and earn a Mossy Chest with a selected random prize inside. Please note that the Stars of Aiti potion has been replaced with a habapi MYO ticket and the Jungle Leaves Potion removed! We won't be using mossy gildes anymore, and will instead directly deliver the chest when the prompt is awarded. Likewise, exploration points are no longer a part of the prompt.

See WORLD >PROMPTS >Exploration Prompts

New Shroomkin & habapi Prompts!

Thanks to mod Pandelirious, we have a few new Shroomkin prompts!  The new Shroomkin prompts will earn you a little wooden badge for your Shroomkin's award cabinet (they can wear the badge on their shawl if they like!) We hope to flesh out gameplay with shroomkin more in the future.

Habapi prompts are coming soon! The mods are coming up with some fun general prompts, exploration prompts and storyline prompts for our tusky friends! Matsana Jungle Exploration & BT Wrap-Up!

Posted 4 months ago :: Last edited 3 months ago by Nopalrabbit

Winter '23 Beast Trials Wrap-up

The melodies were mightily impressed by all the amazing shows Aitielkh from all over put on for them, and Valasong provided blessings to many elk in the form of wings and the very unique uni antler! Some melodies were so impressed they even followed the elkh home! Great work, everyone!

The Beast Trial Shop is open until March.

(All participants recieve a participation badge and an additional Lv3 Beast Box!)
The final point tally was 102 out of 60!

Matsana Jungle exploration event

February is typically known for the famous Sono Races, but this year, everything has come to a halt!
Explorer Rambler has returned from a year-long journey and everyone is gathered around him at the center of Tama to hear about his discoveries.

The people of Miatias are familiar with the jungles on the other side of the mountains, but there is much superstition surrounding the area. Miatians value the open sky, and the dense canopy of the jungle is inhospitable in this way, along with generations of stories warning of all manner of unpleasant creatures and strange happenings to those who dare enter. Even Rambler's human adventuring companion Meridian declined to attend this exploration, but Rambler forged ahead.

a new sono subspecies

First, a whole new subspecies of elkh has been brought to light!

Meet Casa Sonos!
These teeny-tiny counterparts to Villa Beps are mildly fluffy all over, but not to the extent of Villas.
Unlike Villa's reputation for a sunshiney attitude, Casas are stubborn, independent, and resourceful.

Casa Sonos are available to make via MYO slots and customs immediately!

Exploration event

Rambler also spotted some new creatures and ruins, but he's requesting a team of brave souls to join him on a return trip to learn more.
If enough explorers join in, they may be able to uncover even more exciting discoveries!

Track the event HERE!

Exploring the Matsana Jungle via drawn or written prompts will earn you Mossy Gildes (1 per prompt) which you can later use to purchase Mossy Treasure Chests from the Event Shop (1 gilde = 1 chest). The Event Shop unlocks when the meter reaches 25 points.
Mossy gildes will  vanish 1 week after the event ends (March 7) so please spend them quickly! They will only be used for Mossy Chests in this one-time event, so no need to hang onto them for later.

The contents are a mystery but perhaps teammates will share their findings with you as chests are discovered!

Work together to thoroughly explore the jungle and ruins. If the goal is met, an exciting new discovery will reward all participants!

  • 25 points- Event shop unlocked
  • 50 points- New areas of Matsana Jungle Described
  • 60 points- ???

-We reached 25 points and the Events Shop was unlocked! Everyone can now turn in their mossy gildes for mossy chests throughout the event!
-We reached 50 points, unlocking more information about some specific locations in the jungle! Characters (typically sonoelkh and miatian shroomkin) can also live here now. A free pet was added to the event shop!

Congratulations! We reached 60 points; the end goal (and so quickly)! All this exploring has uncovered a new playable species called Habapi. These peccary-like creatures have a fascinating history you can read about in the Habapi guide. All participants throughout the event will receive 1 free MYO ticket; additional tickets are available in the event shop for a discount during the event, and will be available at a higher price in the general shop afterward. (if you have yet to participate, you will get one when you do!)

-Hapabi guide created
-Habapi traits added to the encyclopedia
-Habapi design information added to the design guide
-Hapabi now have their own masterlist
-Habapi prompts forthcoming in March
-Matsana Jungle is now a place your characters can live (though we don't recommend humans..)
-Matsana Jungle theme now available under settings- placeholder banner to be updated with different art in the future :>

The event continues through February, so please feel free to continue exploring Matsana Jungle. Perhaps the new locations and creatures we’ve discovered will provide inspiration for new adventures!

The event shop will remain open for the first week of March so any leftover mossy gildes can be spent. We currently have no plans to use mossy gildes in the future, so please spend them promptly as they will disappear after March 7. Remember to pick up your free pet and discounted MYO tickets before that date as well.

Odds & Ends

  • The featured character has been updated on the front page
  • We will be taking a break in March with no special events
  • February is the last month for winter items in the shop
  • The CG shop has been updated with a new restricted trait potion

Month of the Aiti + Winter Beast Trials!

Posted 5 months ago :: Last edited 4 months ago by Herboreal

Month of the Aiti

Every year in January, we celebrate all things Aitielkh! This month, you can enjoy:

  • A new Beast Trial
  • Purchase Aiti MYO tickets from the Aitielkh Shop
  • Purchase discounted Aiti MYO tickets from the USD Shop
  • Purchase retired companions and accessories from the Aitielkh Shop
  • Purchase an Aitielkh custom(s) from Herboreal at the sale price
  • Do the general prompt to earn an Aitielkh companion
  • Aitielkh sales throughout the month

Beast Trials Winter 2023

A new and unusual new trial is here! Valasong has summoned Aitielkh to the south shores of Silkkassa near Reheva, where the ocean meets rocky cliffs and pristine beach. Track the event's progress on the tracking page!

Valasong is our "beast" for the Winter 23 Beast Trials. You can find Valasong by going to World Map > Figures.

See Valasongs request on the prompt page!

Beast Boxes

The reward for participating in this event is a beast box! The level of box you recieve for a prompt correlates directly to the magic your aitielkh used in said prompt (read the instructions thoroughly, because this one is a little different!). Beast boxes are gacha boxes with a chance of winning any one of the items inside of them. Chances are listed below.

Beast boxes include beast tokens as well! The amount you get corresponds to the level of beast box (lv 1 gets 1 token and so forth). The beast token shop will open January 1st and remain open through February 28th; you will be able to use your tokens to purchase the prizes unique to this event.

Aiti Rare Trait Potion (small) 25% chance
Tender Shoot bundle 25% chance
Spectral Lights 18.75% chance
Melody Companion 12.5% chance
Feathered Wings Potion 12.5% chance
Uni Potion 6.25% chance

Spectral Lights 33.33333% chance
Melody Companion 33.33333% chance
Feathered Wings Potion 22.22222% chance
Uni Potion 11.11111%  chance

Melody Companion 40% chance
Feathered Wings Potion 35% chance
Uni Potion 25%  chance

Valasong Aiti Traits

The featured prizes in this round of Beast Trials are two different trait potions! These potions can be applied to aitielkh/sonoaitielkh only. They will, respectively, give your aitielkh feathered wings and a unicorn "antler" (which can appear one of two ways as shown in the encyclopedia). Uni can be combined with other antler types to create new combination traits. Feathered and bat wings can also be combined (requiring a mysterious carving of course).

Regarding aitielkh subspecies

In the past, we decided natural born aitielkh could not be various subspecies. Because of changes to the lore, namely that all elkh subspecies arose naturally in nature, we've decided to open up aitielkh to all subspecies, so please look forward to more villa, mountain, and other aitis.

Hollygiving Wrap-up

Just a note to say thank you for participating in our first Hollygiving on the new site! We're going to change a few things next year to make things go a little more smoothly, including a hard deadline for sending holly out, a limit on how many beps can send holly from one user (some users felt too overwhelmed to even start, so we want to help!), and allowing holly to be spent through Dec 30th with the rolls taking place Dec 31st. Again this is all for next year, so we hope you look forward to it!

  • Beast trial items are now on seasonal rotation in the Crystal Gilde shop! This winter, the Kirin Scale is available.
  • TOS has been updated; AI art or writing is prohibited.
  • TOS has been updated; Designs using Herboreal's bases may not be resold.
  • The Featured Character is updated on the front page!
  • Raffles are on hold for the time being so there is no new raffle this month.

Hollygiving is Here!

Posted 6 months ago :: Last edited 5 months ago by Herboreal

The snow is falling and the candles in homes are lit. There's magic and yule spirit in the air!

The Story of Hollygiving

Bepotelkh may give out bundles of holly leaves and berries to other beps they think deserve them for doing a good deed or even just brightening their day some time in the last year. This is done in the name of the mysterious Spirit of Yule, an indescribable creature or force that embodies the magic of Yule and encourages reflection and new beginnings. It's said that the Spirit chooses some lucky beps each year on which to bestow some gifts, and that these gifts are presented by the equally mysterious Gifting Stag. The Gifting Stag is said to be a bepotelkh with flaming yellow eyes, growing in power in late December and appearing on the edge of forest clearings and the outskirts of villages. His antlers are draped in silver cone bells.

When a bep receives a bundle of holly, a human friend ties it to one of their antlers. To humans, bep antlers covered in holly are seen as a good luck charm. Beps who lose an antler (or both) while still wearing holly may choose to give one of those antlers to their caretaker or another important human in their life. These decorated antlers can be seen on doors and village gates. With wild and free beps, this tradition is similar, but instead of humans tying the holly on, they have to get the help of other wild creatures like shroomkin! In villages, holly bundles for giving are handed out to beps by their village ambassadors. In the wilds, beps must find holly bushes to snip bundles from with their teeth.

  • Pick characters from the masterlist to give holly to.
  • Each of your elkh may give out 3 holly bundles to any other elkh they choose (but please choose active users)!
    • You may, in ONE instance, have one of your beps give a holly bundle to another of your beps! (we decided this was too cute story-wise to be overlooked, but again, only once and with one bep!)
  • Comment on this news post, linking the bep who is giving the holly, and the three candidates they are giving holly to!
  • A moderator will send the holly currency to the recipients you chose.
  • Holly currency can then be spent at the Yule Shop, where you will find Gudvin has all kinds of gift boxes!
  • The gift boxes each enter you into a different raffle. See the below image to learn what you're entering for and buy the corresponding box.
  • Open the raffle ticket box to be entered into the raffle!
  • The hollygiving raffle will be rolled on December 26th and items will be delivered the same day.
  • If we get a high number of entries, we will increase the number of winners for each raffle!
  • You can enter all the raffles as many times as you want!
